This guide has everything you ever wanted to know about tweaking the services in Windows XP. Then it has some more… and more still! Basically services are magical programs that start with Windows and run while your machine is running. Each one uses a tiny slice of your resources and provides some… service. The idea here is that many people don’t use many of the services. So, rather than letting them each take a little bite of your RAM and CPU, figure out which ones you don’t need and disable them!
