Dear indie musicians,
Yes, I am part of the Napster generation. I download music, but there is good news–I also buy music. I will not give money to a label who will give some of that money to the RIAA. I will not finance lawsuits against people who are not content buying music blindly having not heard it. I am not content financing an organization who claims to initiate legal action on behalf of musicians when, in fact, the musicians do not see any of the proceeds resulting from these lawsuits. Prediction:
In the near future, there will be two choices in the toy aisle at your local Wal-mart: leaded or unleaded. As toymakers realize it is much cheaper to better market poisonous toys than it is to properly screen manufacturing processes or, better still, produce in a country with proper safety laws, the toy industry will develop an analog to food. Leaded toys are to unleaded as “conventional” food is to organic. Parents will be maligned and marginalized as “elitist” for paying the premium to give their children toys that won’t put them in the hospital (if they only had insurance) after a few play sessions. An entire backlash sentiment will develop among the “common man” as they claim superiority for not worrying about something so trivial and just enjoying life. “Why spend your life worrying about all the things that will kill you? We’re all going to die sometime.”
I just heard from a co-worker that, if Obama becomes president, I will be classified as rich (making just over 30k) and will be subsequently taxed at 65%. On another occasion, I have heard that Obama changed his name in high school to get in touch with him Muslim roots. Where are people coming up with this stuff? Should progressives start participating in this type of blatant fear-mongering?
On an unrelated note, information has surfaced which suggests that John McCain considered a sex change for a short time. Well, I’m not too sure you can call it a sex change. You see, John McCain is a hermaphrodite. True story! In the sixties, he had chosen a single sex for himself but chickened out on the operating table.
He also eats babies.

I’m having some serious problems understanding many things about Christianity, but this one may take the cake. It’s also somewhat timely since Easter has only recently passed. What is “dying for our sins?” Who decided this act has any significance whatsoever? The crucifixion was going to happen. If you believe in any semblance of free will, it seems obvious that Jesus was killed by the people. Was it an act of convenience? “Sure, I could save myself, but I want to die for your sins!” The whole thing is a spiritual game of Calvinball; why is it surprise that a man-god can triumph in this game in which he invents the rules as he goes along?
I just purchased my first Mac a few weeks ago after approximately 15 years as a staunch PC user. I wanted a small laptop and didn’t care about gaming on the go. I was admittedly seduced by curiosity (not to mention that damn glowing Apple logo- Curse you vile temptress!). Here I am, not even two months into this crazy experiment and already with some startling results; the most startling is that I whole-heartedly prefer and would recommend a Mac to any computer user except a gamer.
